Portugal. The Man is the American pop band from Alaska behind the chart-topping single “Feel it Still” that everyone has on repeat. This platinum-certified alternative rock mega-hit comes straight from their newest album Woodstock, which was inspired by the greatest festival of all time and the bands of that era who spoke out about the world crumbling around them.
Winning “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” for that same track at the Grammy Awards last month was just the icing on the cake for the group; the song reached number one on Top 40 radio and peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The guys are clearly no strangers to Montreal or Osheaga, having performed blistering sets at the festival twice, in 2012 and in 2014, where they even cooked backstage in Artist World catering alongside our very own chefs Chuck Hughes and Danny Smiles.
So if what they say is true and the third time really is a charm, then you’re definitely not going to want to miss the return of the Lords of Portland to Osheaga 2018!
Behind The Scenes
Music doesn’t have to be complicated. At the end of the day, it’s all about being honest, taking no B.S., and getting right back up after every fall. New York-born singer, songwriter, and all-around rock rebel LP (Laura Pergolizzi) puts it even more succinctly, “I go Johnny Cash on that shit and just get through it.”
Ukulele in hand, voice booming with soul and spirit, and pulling no punches, LP first graced the Osheaga main stages with an undeniably charismatic set back in 2012, performing soon to be recorded hit singles. By 2014, she had not only written hits for Rihanna, Cher, Backstreet Boys, Cher Lloyd, and more, but also released her major label debut, Forever For Now.
Driven by her signature ukulele, raspy acoustic guitars, and unshakable refrains, her follow up full-length album’s lead single and title track “Lost On You” has already amassed over 184 million YouTube views as well as 100 million Spotify streams.
It goes without saying that we couldn’t be more excited to welcome LP back to Osheaga for the 2018 edition!

Billie Eilish might just make you believe in magic. It’s the best explanation for this silver-haired 16-year-old siren whose breathy and soulful croon immediately casts an unbreakable spell.
The Los Angeles songstress with a Tyler, the Creator obsession, wicked sense of humor, and inimitable fashion sense filtered through a kaleidoscope of hip-hop and grunge, brings “gloom pop” to the table and it continually surprises.
“I want to say things that people think but nobody says.”
It’s this kind of uniqueness that fueled the meteoric rise of her debut single “Ocean Eyes”. Produced by her big brother Finneas O’Connell, the siblings uploaded the track to Soundcloud in 2015 and watched it become a veritable phenomenon. Find it on her debut EP Don’t Smile At Me and with its 50 million cumulative Spotify streams and fast approaching 10 million YouTube/VEVO views.
This will be her first time performing at Osheaga Music & Arts and if her sold out show at Montreal’s beautiful Corona Theatre is any indication, we’re thinking you might be as excited as we are to have her back to the festival this summer!
Behind The Scenes
Sylvan Esso was never meant to be a band. After performing on the same bill at a show in Milwaukee, Amelia Meath, with her group Mountain Man, and Nick Sanborn, as his solo electronic project Made of Oak, connected instantly, which led to the fusion of their seemingly different styles and the release of their eponymous debut album a year later.
After making their network television debut performing their single “Coffee”, the song began to receive considerable airplay in the US, increasing the status of the band nationally. Their latest album, titled What Now, came from a “deep band existential crisis”.
“The first part of making the record was like, can we still do this or did we lose it?”
Definitely did not lose it.
Sylvan Esso graciously helped us ring in Osheaga 10th anniversary in 2015 and kept the party going through the night with an official afterparty. Be sure to revel in the magic that they bring with their return to Osheaga 2018!
